INTEGRATE & ACQUIRE:
A carve-out with no finance function. We built one from scratch, and a team to run it.
When a group of private investors carved a division out of a larger group, the new business was left without an adequate finance team, systems or reporting. We stood the whole function up at speed, ran it as the interim finance team, then recruited and onboarded a permanent Head of Finance to take it on.
Build an entirely new Finance Function from scratch – technology, team, reporting and payroll.
The Challenge:
Supporting a Private Equity investment acquiring a division from a broader group resulting in the need for a new standalone Finance Function.
To build the Finance Function at speed – people, process, reporting and technology. To operate as the Finance team on an interim basis and recruit to make ourselves redundant.

The Project:
Delivered the project team in 4 business days to Wellington in NZ - CFO, Financial Controller and Project Leader.
Diagnosis and definition of the project completed in 2 days.
Interviewed CEO, Board and department heads to design one touch reporting functionality aligned with business objectives.
Implemented Xero and Smartly (payroll system) with relevant integrations into Salesforce. Systems selected for speed of execution.
Cleansed data input prior to upload with reference to the due diligence reporting.
Built a pathway to a larger scale finance system with obsolescence expected within 2-3 years.
Operated as outsourced CFO and Financial Controller.
Recruited and onboarded a new Head of Finance to make ourselves redundant.
Our Response:
Fully operational Finance Function delivered in 3 months. We then moved to interim roles, completed recruitment and onboarding within 2 additional months.
